“বাংলাদেশ কম্পিউটার কাউন্সিলের অধীনস্থ উদ্ভাবন ও উদ্যোক্তা উন্নয়ন একাডেমি (আইডিয়া) প্রকল্প উদ্ভাবন এবং উদ্যোক্তা বিষয়ক উন্নয়নমূলক কার্যক্রমের সাহায্যে বাংলাদেশের স্টার্টআপ সংস্কৃতির সমৃদ্ধি সাধনে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে। ২০১৬ সাল থেকে শুরু হওয়া এই প্রকল্প পর্যন্ত ৩৮৫টি সম্ভাবনাময় স্টার্টআপকে প্রি-সিড পর্যায়ে ১০ লাখ টাকার অনুদান প্রদানের অনুমোদন দিয়েছে।
‘স্কুট লিমিটেড’ এর নামে পরিচিত একটি সম্ভাবনাময় স্টার্টআপ এদের মধ্যে অন্যতম।
পরিবেশ বান্ধব এবং উন্নত প্রযুক্তিভিত্তিক ই-বাইক নির্মাণের ক্ষেত্রে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে এই স্টার্টআপ, স্কুট, যা ২০২২ সালে আইডিয়া প্রকল্প থেকে প্রি-সিড পর্যায়ে অনুদান পেয়েছে।
স্কুট লিমিটেড এবং ওয়ালটন ডিজিটেক ইন্ডাস্ট্রিজ লিমিটেড মিলে ই-বাইক নির্মাণের উদ্দেশ্যে গত বৃহস্পতিবার (১৩ জুলাই) বাংলাদেশের রাজধানীতে অবস্থিত ওয়ালটন ডিজিটেক ইন্ডাস্ট্রিজ লিমিটেডের কর্পোরেট হেড অফিসে একটি সমঝোতা স্মারক (এমওইউ) স্বাক্ষর করেন। স্কুট লিমিটেডের ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক কাজী রিদওয়ান আহমেদ এবং ওয়ালটন ডিজিটেক ইন্ডাস্ট্রিজ লিমিটেডের চিফ বিজনেস অফিসার মো. তৌহিদুর রহমান এই সমঝোতা স্মারকে স্বাক্ষর করেন।

Under the Bangladesh Computer Council, the Innovation and Entrepreneur Development Academy (iDEA) project is working towards enriching the startup culture in Bangladesh, adopting innovation and entrepreneurial development initiatives. Starting its journey in 2016, the project has so far approved grants of BDT 1 million each for 385 promising startups in the pre-seed stage.
Among these, ‘Scoot Limited’ is one of the promising startups. Scoot, a portfolio startup of the iDEA project, is moving forward with the promise of producing environmentally friendly and advanced technology e-bikes. The institution received a pre-seed grant from the iDEA project in 2022.
Aiming at joint production of e-bikes, Scoot and Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the corporate head office of Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited in Bashundhara, the capital, on Thursday evening (July 13). The managing director of Scoot Limited, Kazi Ridwan Ahmed, and the chief business officer of Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited, Md. Touhidur Rahman, signed the MoU on behalf of Scoot and Walton, respectively, in the presence of others.
Others present at the time included Scoot’s Director Sihab Khan and Partha Roy, and Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited’s Head of Marketing Md. Tawfik Imam, Deputy Assistant Director (of Sales) Md. Fuad Rahman, and Deputy Director (E-bike) Kaykobad Siddiki, among other officers.
